The NauticStar 2012 Legacy Double as a Pleasure and Fishing Boat

NauticStar Boats continues to broaden its product line by introducing the new Legacy Series beginning with the 2102 Legacy. The 2102 Legacy is a family friendly, center console, multi-purpose offshore boat that doubles as a pleasure and fishing boat.

“We’ve enjoyed great success with our center console offshore XS series but from our market research and request from our dealer network we have found a need for a series of center consoles that not only have good fishing features but also comfort features to entertain the family on the water,” said NauticStar President and Founder Phil Faulkner. “The 2102 really hits the mark for fishing, cruising and water sports.”

The 2102 Legacy is 20’3” long and 102” wide. The hull design is 19 degrees dead rise at the transom for stability at rest. Forward is a deep Vee dead rise providing a soft ride in rougher waters. The extreme bow flair forward allows for more comfort and displaces the water away from the passengers. The hull also has a reverse chine that helps the boat plane quickly, giving it more lift for a high and dry ride.

Yamaha Marine* has tested the 2102 Legacy and has published some really attractive numbers. Powered with a four stroke F150XA, the boat planed in 4.08 seconds and had a top speed of 44.4 MPH with a fuel burn of only 5.5 GPH at cruise.

Boarding the boat is easy with the molded in stainless steel ladder, swim platform and “unique integrated aft bench seating with a walk-thru transom door with back rest. There also is a transom shower so that you can rinse off before you enter into the cockpit. The bench seat houses battery storage, a 30-gallon aerated live well and a bucket for cast net storage or other gear. On top of the port and starboard gunnels are 4 flush mounted stainless steel rod holders for trolling. There is also storage for 6 rods in the gunnel sides. Clean up is a snap with the high-pressure wash down and self bailing cockpit.

The captain’s station features a center console with head compartment and a forward console cooler. The helm comes with a stainless steel wheel and hydraulic steering. Other features of the captain’s station include a tachometer, speedometer, voltmeter and fuel gauge. Lighted drink holders and Infinity stereo with Blue Tooth capability finish off the console nicely. A leaning post with 94 quart cooler is the standard seating.

The interior cockpit has LED lighting for night cruising and fishing.

The bow area has very comfortable seating with optional flip out backrest and dual under-seat insulated fish boxes with overboard drains.

Construction features include:

  • Wood Free Construction
  • Watertight deusch electrical connectors on all pumps and lights
  • One-piece molded foam filled stringer system
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

I have been researching the 2102 Legacy. I have a question regarding the T Top. Is there an option for a T Top that will fold or lower down for storing in a garage? If you order with a bimini top will it fold all the way down?

We do not have a t-top that folds down. However, the Bimini option does fold all the way down to the gunnels.
