The Anglada Adventure
Posted onWe connected with Salim Anglada while he was returning from a fishing expedition in Venice, Louisiana and he was kind enough to take a few minutes to share his NauticStar experience.
Salim has been fishing with his brother since they were young kids and this love of fishing and boating eventually led them to NauticStar Boats starting with a 211 Hybrid. Although the Hybrid was a great boat for fishing and family recreation, Salim’s wife recommended he trade it in on a 25 XS so they could also venture further offshore.
When asked why he chose the NauticStar brand he did not hesitate; the affordability, ride, and overall value made this an easy choice. His dealer, Carey & Sons in Granbury, Texas made the boat buying experience easy.
Salim is very particular in how he prepares his boat for fishing. One must-have for him was the addition of Simrad electronics, including his NSS12 evo3 with C-MAP® US Enhanced Charts & Broadband Radar as well as his HALO24 Radar with VelocityTrack™ Doppler technology.
Salim is always ready to turn the key and head out as he averages over 300 hours a year on his NauticStar 25 XS. Whether fishing for Yellowfin and Blackfin in Venice, Louisiana, or fishing offshore from Freeport, Texas for Kingfish Mackerel and Red Snapper, fishing is always an adventure. Shorter excursions are just as important, including local fishing with friends or just cruising to his wife’s favorite waterfront restaurant.
Next up? Salim and his brother are determined to land a triple-digit Yellowfin and to exceed his previous best 48” Kingfish Mackerel.
